Stevia: my first impression.

BreRozI was so skeptical about Stevia. Today when I went to the Natural Foods store, I saw a few packets lying by the coffee and thought, this is the perfect chance to grab one and give it a whirl without wasting $ on an entire box!

I picked up some organic strawberries on the way home, to sprinkle with Stevia.

I had luckily read that Stevia is much stronger than sugar and your should not use nearly as much. I sprinkled just a little on my freshly washed and cut strawberries and long behold – that stuff is GOOD. It tastes almost identical to sugar. I like it so much, I am glad I finally was able to give it a try.

Next time I run out of sugar I will be buying Nu-Stevia.

Just made an awesome sandwich.

Annie’s Natural Tuscany Italian Dressing.

The dressing is new today. I wanted ‘italian’ but this was the closest I could get and WOAH do I LOVE it. Really happy with my purchase. This sandwich, I know, is simple, but as you know, I trying new things almost every day!

Not doing too bad!

I’ve done real well with this no-milk diet. I mean, I have had the slightest bits, here and there, but no where near what I was consuming before. And still, I am discovering alternatives all the time!

Even though I have done well, not one of my symptoms has changed. That isn’t the worst thing though! Maybe I am OK with milk! Maybe it is a gluten problem.

For now, I am continually working on adding new organic, vegan, dairy-free, gluten free foods to my diet.

I am going to have to start taking photos of the new foods I try and post them here.

OK – 4th of July weekend. Time to leave the computer for a bit!

Taste testing.

organic-foodI have been in and out of grocery stores lately, especially Lori’s Natural Foods, but I keep leaving almost empty handed. I didn’t understand why I wasn’t committing to buying these new products. I wasn’t concerned about the price, so what was the deal?

I realized yesterday, I don’t know what any of these things taste like. It is as simple as that. It was easy to grocery shop as I had in the past because, I knew what I was getting.

I wish, so hard core I could find a place where I can taste these different products! This would be the best way for myself to become hooked into this lifestyle. It seems that almost anything you want comes organic, soy free, gluten free, vegan these days, without sugar – and I know some of those things probably taste pretty good! I just don’t know what I like yet and it is slowing me way down.

I feel like I am eating way less than I should be because, I just don’t have much on hand. I don’t mind the pricing of these goods, I just do not want to waste!

Vegan Orange Chocolate Chip Cookie : Updated

BreRoz

UPDATE: Of course I went back and this time I took a photo of said cookie!

I guess I should have taken a photo of the vegan orange chocolate chip cookie I just finished. They bake them at Lori’s Natural Foods (Rochester, NY) and they are GOOD. I need to eat more freekin’ GOOD FOR me food on milk elimination experiment I am doing.

Good job today Bre!

Hiding SkinI did well today. I only had that cream in my coffee because I spilt the freekin’ almond milk all over in my car. I was noticing that my face was really clearing up but, who knows what happened because today, the story has altered. It is no longer the case.

I thought I would feel better sooner. I thought my digestive tract would be flowing sooner than this. Still, no change. Maybe it is because I haven’t really replaced my milk consumption with anything healthy? I take that back, I have absolutely been eating more vegetables than ever lately.
